British Airways Adds Route From Bangor To London

Not to be outdone by recent route additions by Delta and Allegiant, British Airways jumped made a splash today with the announcement of multi stop service from Bangor to London’s Heathrow International Airport.

British Airways Embraer E-170 Arrives in Bangor.

The flight will be serviced with British Airways’ City Flier brand utilizing Embraer E-170. The aircraft will be in a 33 seat business class only class cabin.

Due to range restrictions, flights will leave Bangor and make stops at Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Keflavik, Iceland for fuel before arriving in London a lot later than you would have had you driven to Boston on my son’s tricycle, swam across Boston Harbor to get to Logan and hope aboard a direct flight from Boston to London.

Ticket prices are expected to be astronomical in order make the flights worthwhile. No cabin service will be available in order to save weight, however they’ll have Tim Horton’s in Goose Bay for your coffee and baked goods hankerings.

If you read this far, you’re probably ready to punch me for wasting your time, much like my mother in law does. There was a British Airways E-170 in Bangor yesterday, but it was a storage flight, and not a revenue flight.

Cheers to April and cheers to a strong summer for air travel as the industry builds back from Covid.
