The University of Maine in Augusta, in conjunction with Maine Instrument Flight at the Augusta State Airport have teamed up to offer the first degree in aviation in Maine. Upon successful completion of the program, students will graduate as FAA certified commercial pilots with 5 type ratings.

Aside from aviation classes, students will take classes in business, economics and general ed requirements. For those already possessing a pilots license, but wish to attain a Bachelor of Arts degree, there is a separate program with up to 41 credits given for technical training. Both military or other flight training is accepted.
