Last night while searching for flights to St Louis for a wedding this summer, I found a little gem through the Delta website. They will begin flying the Boeing 717-200s procured after the Air Tran/Southwest merger. When Air Tran and Southwest became one, the 717’s didn’t fit into Southwest’s all 737 fleet. Delta has absorbed many of them and will begin flying them mainline from Bangor to Detroit. Flight starts as an A320 on the 4th and then switches to the 717 on June 5th.
This is a great addition to the Bangor route, eliminating a regional jet and giving passengers a little more room as well as more overhead and under seat space. We will be there to catch the first one as it lands! Stay tuned for a flight review of it in July.
