United Resumes Flights from BGR to ORD

Today marked the day United Air Lines resumed scheduled air service from Bangor to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. With the official announcement coming in February, United began flying seasonal scheduled flights to Chicago with Canadair CRJ700 regional jets this afternoon.

United 3625, a 2 1/2 hour flight departed on runway 15 bound for the Windy City around 5:30 this afternoon. Daily service will run today through December 2nd with a second daily flight added from July 1st through August 31st.

United came back to Bangor due in part to a Small Community Air Service Development Program grant that was received by Bangor International Airport in 2013. The grant guarantees a minimum revenue to provide connecting flights to Chicago or Washington’s Dulles International Airport.
