LifeFlight of Maine Hosts 20th Anniversary Dedication

It was a busy day for LifeFlight of Maine as they hosted 3 dedication ceremonies to commemorate their 20th anniversary of serving Maine and New England with world renowned air ambulance service.

In Bangor roughly 50 people attended the ceremony at the LifeFlight hangar. On hand were several employees of Lifeflight of Maine, SevenBar Aviation, Northern Light Healthcare, representatives from political dignitaries, patients and more.

LifeFlight of Maine Executive Director Thomas Judge, Northern Light Healthcare CEO Michelle Hood and Founding LifeFlight of Maine Medical Director Norm Dinerman, MD spoke about the importance of LifeFlight to Maine and beyond and Chaplain Rex Garrett from Northern Light Healthcare gave the blessing of the fleet.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, people were able to check out the inside of one of LifeFlight of Maine’s Agusta Westland AW109 and chat with flight crews and other dignitaries.

There were 2 other celebrations held at the Lewiston/Auburn and Sanford bases throughout the day.

The LifeFlight program is a major asset to the people of Maine and New England, especially rural areas with limited access to critical care facilities. Having served the people of our state for 20 years, we wish the men and women of LifeFlight of Maine well in the next 20 years.
